Audix D6 Drum Microphone
The Audix D6 is a dynamic, low-frequency instrument microphone suitable for kick drums, large toms, bass cabinets, and Leslie’s bottom. The cardioid polar pattern rejects off-axis noise and ambiance caused by additional instruments, monitors, etc. The D6 features a 30 Hz to 15 kHz frequency response. The contoured low-frequency pickup allows suitable miking of kick drums, bass cabinets, and more. Transformerless design, low impedance, and balanced output allow for interference-free performance; even with long cable runs.
The Audix D6 features VLM technology providing a sensitivity and sonic response resulting in a rounded, warm low-end while handling extremely high-sound pressure levels. The microphone is capable of handling extremely high audio levels without distorting. The Audix D6 provides a consistent pickup, eliminating the need to locate the “sweet spot”. The D6 includes a snap-on clip and carrying pouch. The D6 is lightweight, compact, and easy to position.
The D6 is used for stage, studio, and broadcast applications. Designed with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control, the D6 is equipped with a VLM diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. With a wide frequency response of 30 Hz – 15 kHz and the ability to handle SPLs in excess of 144 dB, The D6 is an excellent choice for making instruments requiring extended low-frequency reproduction such as kick drums, large toms, and bass cabinets. The D6 is manufactured with a precision machined aluminum body, Black anodized finish, laser etched model and serial number, steel mesh grill, switch craft XLR connector, and includes a tension-fit heavy-duty nylon microphone clip.
